Genesis Chapter one tells us that God created all that exists. In the following chapters rebellion against the sovereignty of God is recorded. Ever since that fateful moment the world has been held in slavery by the leader of that insurrection. As slaves, the people of the world are no longer able to be in the presence of God because of their own participation in the rebellion. The whole world is under the controlling influence of the of this ruler of the kingdom of darkness. 

God understanding this and being fully aware of it, even before it took place, put his strategy for rescue in place. That's right, rescue! God being the Almighty that He is, put in motion a plan that would accomplish His purpose and plan. That plan was to remake man, a metamorphisis if you will, to be like His son who is the exact representation of His own glory. God wants this for you because with out this transforming of your old nature you will not live in the Eternal. You will perish. Why? Because you have not yet been made trully alive.
