Peter 2:9-11 ( 1Pe 2:9
But you are the ones chosen by God, chosen for the high
calling of priestly work, chosen to be a holy people, God's
instruments to do his work and speak out for him, to tell others
of the night-and-day difference he made for you—(message) There is a truth that seems supportable by
scripture that indicates all Christians are priests – The
universal priesthood of all believers. But what does that mean in
the real lives of everyday Christians? · Are you a Christian? _________ if no, why not? If yes, then -> · If yes then does that mean you too are a priest? __________ What does it mean to be a Priest? _________________________________________________ What is the primary duty of a priest or does that depend upon something else, like gifts and calling, or something else? ____________________________________________________ (Some
duties of the priests under Mosaic Law
- Keeping charge of Tabernacle, Cover of sacred items,
Offering Sacrifice, Lighting and tending lamps, Keeping sacrifice
fire burning, Burning incense, Placing and removing show bread,
Offering 1st fruits,
Blessing people, Purifying the unclean, Deciding in cases
of Jealousy, in cases of leprosy, Judging in cases of
controversy, Teaching Law, Blowing the trumpet, Carrying the Ark,
Encouraging the people, Valuing things Devoted, Counting the
people, etc. ) MAL 2:7
"For the lips of a priest ought to preserve knowledge, and
from his mouth men should seek instruction--because he is the
messenger of the LORD Almighty.
