Debarkation ( Psalm 139:1-6 PS
139:1 O LORD, you have searched me and you know me. 2
You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts
from afar. 3 You discern my going out and my lying
down; you are familiar with all my ways. 4 Before a
word is on my tongue you know it completely, O LORD. 5
You hem me in--behind and before; you have laid your hand upon
me. 6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too
lofty for me to attain. Consider who you are for a moment. Compare your selves to a baseball on the shelf at Wal-Mart or in the old toy box. What is your value or significance? What if you were the ball that Babe Ruth hit his last home run with and now sit un a stand with His signature on you. What is your significance or value now? Why the change in value? It is understandable that who has used something and for what purpose does have an effect on value doesn’t? Moses was faithful to Whom and to how he was used and his value increased in fame and glory. (Heb.3:5) So who has written their name on you? For what have you been selected to accomplish? As you reflect on this past year are you at peace with yourself about what Jesus has accomplished through you? If you are anything like me, our feelings of having been found pleasing to God are less than we are happy about. What or who got in the way? Don’t despair over the past if it was not what you had hoped for but rather set your affirmations on the one who can bring your life to a higher level of living. David who penned the 139th psalm knew well the struggles of life and the disappointments of hopes unrealized. He set his sights on the one who could see far better than himself. 13
For you created my inmost being; you knit me
together in my mother's womb. 14 I praise you
because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are
wonderful, I
know that full well. 15 My frame was not hidden from
you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven
together in the depths of the earth, 16 your eyes saw
my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in
your book before one of them came to be. David knew Him who knew him. The Lord sees each of us and has seen each even before we came to exist. David was encouraged by knowing that This Awesome, Almighty God who is Jehovah had called Him to be king. I would like to convince you of this same calling by Jesus. Jesus has known you and called you and for ordained you to journey to His kingdom. A Kingdom prepared before the creation of the world for you to enter. He has called you to a debarkation from the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of light. What a God and Savior we serve! I would like to challenge you by the way of Scripture to accept who you are in Christ and to what you have been called and to where that journey is taking you. The significant things of your having debarked are more than a few. 1. You have left your old life behind 2. You have left your old destination behind 3. You have become a new person 4. You have been given what you need for the trip
