What Do You See?

( 02/12/06 )

II Corinthians 4:16-18

Have you ever looked at those puzzle books that have all these multi-colors and you have to look at it off focus to see what the picture is?

How many watch of you Crime Shows on TV?  Do you watch what they do at crime scenes?

One time I went to Phoenix , Arizona and took a desert tour.  The tour guide’s name is Doc. When we were out in the desert, he asked, “What do you see out here?”

The response was bushes, rocks, some trees and lots of different cacti.  Doc stated that is what you see on the surface.  He said what is truly out there is medicine, food, weapons, building supplies, and more. He also said most people believe that the Indians just survived out in the desert. He said that is wrong, they did not survive but thrived.

I have found that the key to all of those things is to know what to look for.   What are the signs?  What is it telling you?

What we see as a roadblock in life is really an opportunity to see God working in our lives. There are opportunities to serve, to praise, to glorify and to get stronger in the Lord.

What is it that you are not seeing?  Let us see what the scriptures have to tell us.

In II Kings 6 we read of where Elisha’s servant came outside to see the Syrian army and was afraid. Elisha prayed for the servant’s eyes to be opened.

In Joshua 6 we read of the Israelites marching around the city of Jericho and on the seventh day they blew trumpets, shouted and the walls of Jericho fell flat.

In Daniel 3 we read of three young men, Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-Nego, who defied the king and only worshipped God.

In Jonah 3 we read of a nation who was Israel ’s worst enemy and how they repented.

In Mark 6 we read of how Jesus fed over 5000 with just 5 loaves of bread and 2 fishes.

In Acts 9 we read of the conversion of Saul. We see how Saul is changed to Paul and what it takes.

In John 20 we read of doubting Thomas and what Jesus says to him.

In I John 4:20-21 it tells us if we love God but hate our brother then we are liars.

In Matthew 25: 31-46 we read of those who took care of those in need.

What do you see if life? God working in us? Opportunities?  The miracles around us?
